About The Position

The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking a Gym Attendant to join their team. This role involves positively impacting the community through athletics, helping children reach their potential, and enacting age-appropriate goals. The Gym Attendant will be responsible for maintaining a safe, welcoming, and positive environment in the gymnasium and on basketball courts, enforcing YMCA rules, managing court usage, and assisting with various activities and equipment. The position offers opportunities for learning and growth within a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the community. Requirements

18+ years of age
Excellent knowledge of instructing in the program area - Basketball, Soccer, Football, and more!
Ability to perform activities which require sustained concentration and attention
Mornings, nights, and/or weekend availability

Responsibilities

Monitor the gymnasium and basketball courts to maintain a safe, welcoming, and positive environment
Enforce YMCA rules, policies, and procedures while addressing member concerns professionally
Manage court usage and participation during open gym and recreational activities
Assist with transitions between open gym, programs, practices, rentals, and scheduled activities
Set up, break down, and properly store equipment while maintaining an organized equipment area
Maintain a clean, orderly gym and address potential safety hazards
Conduct and document attendance and required head counts
Assist with opening, closing, and securing the gym and equipment
Provide friendly customer service and answer basic questions from members and guests
Promptly report injuries, incidents, safety concerns, and facility issues to YMCA leadership
