About The Position

The YMCA of Southern Nevada is looking for a kids gym attendant. You will play a key role in creating a welcoming and engaging environment for our members. Under the direction of the Youth Development Director, you will supervise groups of children and implement YMCA activities. This is an in person, part-time position at the Centennial Hills YMCA during the hours of 8am-12pm Monday - Saturday.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or general education (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong skills in: communication, leadership, judgment, and creativity.
• Within 30 days of hire current CPR, AED, First Aid Certifications (required)
• Minimum age of 16

Responsibilities

• Leads and participates in group activities and performs related skills with children ages 3 months to 7 years old. (i.e., painting, coloring, reading, and motor skills activities).
• Follows specific YMCA Camp Standard Operating Procedures. (i.e., check-in/out of participants, parent greeting, cleaning and straightening of supplies).
• Implements program activities and special events.
• Promotes and embraces Character Development in curriculum.
• Serves as a positive role model for program participants.
• Builds and maintains a high standard of member service for all program participants.
• Adhere to policies related to boundaries with children.
• Attend required abuse risk management training.
• Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
• Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
• Adhere to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities.
