About The Position
We are looking for a Gym Attendant to join our team at the Y! We spend our days positively impacting the community around us through athletics. We help children reach their potential, enact age appropriate goals, and we change lives in our Y community.
Requirements
- 18+ years of age
- Excellent knowledge of instructing in the program area - Basketball, Soccer, Football, and more!
- Ability to perform activities which require sustained concentration and attention
- Mornings, nights, and/or weekend availability
Responsibilities
- Monitor the gymnasium and basketball courts to maintain a safe, welcoming, and positive environment
- Enforce YMCA rules, policies, and procedures while addressing member concerns professionally
- Manage court usage and participation during open gym and recreational activities
- Assist with transitions between open gym, programs, practices, rentals, and scheduled activities
- Set up, break down, and properly store equipment while maintaining an organized equipment area
- Maintain a clean, orderly gym and address potential safety hazards
- Conduct and document attendance and required head counts
- Assist with opening, closing, and securing the gym and equipment
- Provide friendly customer service and answer basic questions from members and guests
- Promptly report injuries, incidents, safety concerns, and facility issues to YMCA leadership
