Guitar/Ukulele Private Lesson Teacher
About The Position
Kingsley Montessori School is seeking a PRIVATE LESSON GUITAR/UKULELE TEACHER for their After School Music Program. This role is for beginning and intermediate students in Grades P4-6 (ages 4-12). Experience working with and teaching very young students is required. The ideal candidate will have a holistic approach to education, emphasizing sight reading, music theory, composition, ear training, aural analysis, and best practices for young students. Students will be encouraged to perform in recitals and learn to manage their practice and self-critique. Hours are flexible, varying between 3-6 PM Monday-Friday, based on enrollment and teacher availability. Teachers will provide one-on-one weekly lessons.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Music degree
- Experience with a variety of instructional methods and multi-age learning environments
- Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum design and development
- Commitment to meeting the needs of each student
- Commitment to professional growth and best practices in education
- Experience working with and teaching very young students (ages 4-12)
Responsibilities
- Give one-on-one weekly lessons to scheduled students.
- Teach sight reading, music theory, composition, ear training, and aural analysis.
- Encourage students to perform in recitals.
- Guide students in taking ownership of their practice regimen.
- Develop students' vocabulary for guided self-critique.
