At EF Honolulu, SPINs (Special Interest classes) give students the opportunity to study English through topics they are genuinely interested in. These classes combine language learning with hands-on experiences, helping students build confidence and fluency through real-world engagement. Topics range from creative arts to local culture in Hawaiʻi. We are looking for a Ukulele SPIN Instructor to lead a fun, culturally rich SPIN class centered on ukulele music and Hawaiian culture. This class blends English language practice with introductory ukulele instruction, cultural storytelling, and interactive activities. The goal is not to develop advanced musicians, but to give students a memorable introduction to the ukulele while building their confidence using English. Students will learn a few basic chords, simple songs, and the cultural significance of the instrument, leaving with a Hawaiian experience and the confidence to continue playing if they choose. We're looking for someone who enjoys sharing music and culture in an engaging way. Expert-level musicianship is not required. No prior teaching curriculum is required. We're looking for someone who can create a fun, welcoming experience and help students leave class knowing a few songs, a few chords, and with a deeper appreciation for Hawaiian culture.
