Piano Private Lesson Teacher
About The Position
Kingsley Montessori School is seeking a PRIVATE LESSON PIANO TEACHER for its After School Music Program. This position is for beginning and intermediate students in Grades P4-6 (ages 4-12). Experience working with and teaching very young students is required. The ideal candidate will have a holistic approach to education, emphasizing sight-reading, music theory, composition, ear training, aural analysis, and best practices for young students. Students will be encouraged to perform in recitals and develop ownership of their practice regimen and self-critique skills. Hours vary between 3-6 PM, Monday-Friday, based on enrollment and teacher availability. Teachers will provide one-on-one weekly lessons.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Music degree
- Experience working with and teaching very young students (ages 4-12)
- Experience with a variety of instructional methods and multi-age learning environments
- Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum design and development
- Commitment to meeting the needs of each student
- Commitment to professional growth and best practices in education
Responsibilities
- Give one-on-one weekly piano lessons to scheduled students.
- Teach sight reading, music theory, composition, ear training, and aural analysis.
- Encourage students to perform in recitals.
- Guide students in developing their practice regimen and self-critique skills.
- Adapt instructional methods for a variety of ages and learning environments.
