About The Position

As a Music Teacher, you will teach music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. You will help increase and retain student enrollment while supporting students’ growth, development, and enjoyment of playing music. The role also supports Guitar Center’s culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect, and provides an excellent customer experience. You will partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain students based on community needs, deliver lessons, and assist with customer service as needed. You will communicate regularly with students and families about progress and goals, build trusting relationships, and recognize parents’ knowledge of their child as a music teacher.

Requirements

Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
Demonstrated competency and proficiency in the area being taught.

Responsibilities

Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
Assist with customer service as needed to help build and maintain long-term students by creating a great experience.
Communicate frequently with students and families to build trusting relationships.
Communicate each student’s progress to students and/or their parents.
Frequently share students’ or parents’ goals and progress.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
