About The Position

Guitar Center’s mission is to develop and nurture lifelong musicians and help people experience the joy of creating music. Instructors teach music lessons to students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum, helping students grow, develop, and enjoy playing music while supporting a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. Successful instructors are musically passionate, student-focused, proactive, effective communicators, organized, and adaptable.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of work experience in music, education, or a related field, or a bachelor’s degree.
• Ability to pass Guitar Center-specific training and certifications.
• Demonstrated competency and proficiency in the area taught: drums, guitar, or keyboard.
• Ability to motivate students and communicate clearly and courteously with diverse individuals.
• Ability to organize priorities and adapt to a fast-paced environment and changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum.
• Communicate with students or their parents about each student’s progress, where applicable.
• Assist with customer service issues as needed and help maintain long-term students by creating a positive experience.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
