About The Position

The Guest Services Technician is an essential member of the South Wilmington Street Center team, working proactively to help ensure the center operates at its fullest potential. The South Wilmington Street Center (SWSC) offers an array of support services to the homeless citizens of Wake County. The center has 195 beds that are utilized 365 days a year to assist homeless adult males in the community. SWSC provides more intense services through the Progressive Housing Program. These men are provided with support either through group interaction or individual one-on-one support from a Social Worker to assist them in obtaining self-sufficiency. The men are guaranteed a bed each day as they progress toward their goals and permanent housing. They are also provided with 3 meals daily, breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with hygiene kits, access to showers and laundry and outreach and engagement services from our staff. In this role, you will work various shifts at our 24‑hour facility on an as‑needed basis.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
No specific experience required
Equivalent education and experience are accepted
Ability to recognize and respect individual differences, including people experiencing homelessness and those with physical or behavioral challenges
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing; listen actively and respond appropriately
Ability to effectively use office equipment and technology, including Microsoft Office applications and CHIN
Ability to coordinate work, multitask and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to observe, monitor, collect and record data; assess accuracy, validity and integrity
Ability to work independently and complete tasks accurately with high attention to detail
