The Guest Services Representative is responsible for providing service within Fairmont & Leading Quality Assurance (LQA) standards. This role involves working at the Front Desk and other areas as needed. The representative will greet guests, check them in, and settle accounts while adhering to service standards. They will assist guests with information about resort facilities, activities, island attractions, and restaurants. The role also includes promoting and up-selling accommodations and resort services, communicating guest requests via resort software, and maintaining accurate records of daily transactions, including cash handling, currency exchange, and bank balancing. Ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the lobby, familiarizing with group resumes, and covering overnight shifts are also key responsibilities. The representative will actively participate in monthly departmental sales promotions, organize their time effectively, and maintain a spirit of aloha by providing engaging, personalized, timely, and efficient service. A focus on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous, and being knowledgeable about the island and resort offerings are essential. Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees are required to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate business demands.
