About The Position

NorCal Aquarium and Wildlife Adventures is seeking a part-time Guest Services/Cashier to provide a welcoming atmosphere and memorable experiences for visitors in a fun, educational environment. The role combines guest service, sales, cashiering, and support for daily retail and operational tasks. The position requires availability on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts.

Requirements

• Previous experience in customer service, sales, or retail is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Friendly, approachable demeanor and enthusiasm for creating memorable experiences for guests.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage with a wide range of guests.
• Customer-focused approach and interest in helping others.
• Proactive attitude focused on sales and upselling.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work well on a team and take initiative.
• Basic math skills for processing transactions and handling cash.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift merchandise as needed.
• Availability to work Saturdays and Sundays, weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts.

• Additional education or retail experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, efficient, personalized service to guests.
• Promote and sell memberships, premium animal interactions, gift shop products, birthday parties, and other services.
• Stay informed about current sales and promotions, payment and exchange policies, and security practices.
• Assist with inventory checks, cleaning, special events, and other daily operational tasks as needed.
• Process cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Keep the cashier area clean and organized, and ensure products are stocked and displayed.
• Address customer concerns patiently and empathetically, seeking the best possible resolution.
• Meet or exceed sales goals and performance targets.
• Assist with in-store visual merchandising and displays to improve product visibility.
• Follow safety guidelines and store policies to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions to improve product knowledge and sales techniques.
