About The Position

The Guest Services Agent creates a welcoming and memorable experience for hotel guests by handling front desk transactions, sharing local information, and anticipating guest needs. This part-time, flexible position covers days off across all shifts; flexibility to work first, second, and third shifts is a plus. The role is at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Jersey City - Holland Tunnel in Jersey City, New Jersey. Compensation is $16.00–$21.00 per hour. Eligible for a new-hire bonus after 120 days of employment.

Requirements

Strong communication skills and an approachable manner.
Problem-solving skills to resolve guest issues.
Fluency in the local language.
Reading, writing, basic math, and computer skills.
Flexibility to work night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
High school diploma or qualification.
Ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 50 pounds (23 kg), including bending and kneeling.

Nice To Haves

Additional language skills.
A college or university degree.
At least one year of experience in a front desk or guest service position.

Responsibilities

Welcome guests and acknowledge Rewards Club members and returning guests in person or by phone.
Take and manage guest bookings, identify upselling opportunities, and explain options for improving guests’ stays.
Handle cash and credit transactions.
Check guests in and out, verify IDs, distribute room keys, and control and release safety deposit boxes.
Record and act on guest preferences; handle messages, requests, questions, and concerns.
Assist guests with bill issues and local information, and involve management when necessary.
Follow safety procedures, report incidents, and wear protective gear when needed.
Maintain a professional appearance and represent the brand.
Stay informed about the day’s events and activities.
Assist colleagues with ad hoc duties as needed.
