About The Position

This role focuses on executing and optimizing go-to-market strategies through events and partnerships. The associate will be responsible for managing live events, securing sponsorships, and building systems to streamline future event planning and execution. The position requires a hands-on approach, comfort with operational tools, and the ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years running events, field marketing, community, or partnerships.
  • Experience asking a company for sponsorship money and getting a 'yes'.
  • Experience running an event with a real budget and real vendors (quotes, negotiation, contracts, invoices).
  • Clear written English for writing sponsor pitches, event pages, and social copy.
  • Reside in San Francisco and be willing to be onsite.
  • Comfort with the operational stack: CRM hygiene, Luma or Partiful, spreadsheets that reconcile, follow-ups that actually go out.
  • 3–5 years in growth/performance marketing at a SaaS or consumer tech company.
  • Experience running paid campaigns with a focus on driving free → paid conversions.
  • Skilled at campaign setup/ops.
  • Skilled at pulling insights from GA4, Amplitude, or similar tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Existing network in the SF AI scene (founders, VC platform teams, accelerator communities, other event organizers).
  • Working Mandarin.
  • Experience with paid media, performance marketing, or adtech.
  • Content production chops: shooting on a phone, cutting clips, running a podcast series, growing a brand account.
  • Experience growing a community from zero.
  • Ability to wear multiple hats across paid, lifecycle, and affiliate ops.
  • Experience with affiliate/referral marketing platforms (Rewardful or similar).

Responsibilities

  • Run the room: Take over production on two to three live events, including venue, vendors, run of show, check-in, and teardown.
  • Own the invite funnel across Luma, Partiful, LinkedIn, and community groups, hitting registration and show-rate targets.
  • Build the attendee capture loop to ensure all attendees are entered into the CRM for BD team action.
  • Own the sponsor package end-to-end: build the pitch, source targets, run outreach, negotiate tiers, collect signing details, and track invoices.
  • Bring in co-hosts for partnerships with AI companies on hackathons, workshops, and mixers.
  • Achieve event cost to net neutral or better through sponsorship.
  • Publish the event playbook, including theme calendar, target guest profiles, sponsor tiers, vendor lists, and post-event follow-up sequences.
  • Stand up the content layer around events: founder interviews, clips, recaps, and social posts.
  • Provide the BD team with a clean list of sourced meetings with attribution back to the event.
