About The Position

The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) Teacher at Reese Elementary School is responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing developmentally appropriate lessons based on the GSRP curriculum. This role involves creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that fosters the holistic growth of each child. The teacher will conduct ongoing child assessments, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with other staff to ensure program quality and compliance. A key aspect of this position is building strong relationships with families and involving them in their child's learning journey. Participation in professional development and program evaluations is also required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development OR a Bachelor's Degree in a related field with a valid Michigan teaching certificate and an Early Childhood (ZA or ZS) endorsement.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in early childhood education settings preferred.
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early learning.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and assess developmentally appropriate lessons based on the GSRP curriculum.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth of each child.
  • Conduct ongoing child assessments and maintain accurate records in accordance with GSRP requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Teacher, GSRP Program Director, and other staff to ensure program compliance and quality.
  • Establish strong, positive relationships with families, maintaining open communication and involving them in their child's learning experience.
  • Participate in professional development, team meetings, and program evaluations as required.
