About The Position

Semgrep is seeking a dedicated PLG Growth Marketer to build and manage a scalable, measurable top-of-funnel engine. This role will focus on turning organic interest into a robust acquisition strategy, owning everything pre-sign-up. The Growth Marketer will develop campaigns, experiments, and content to drive awareness, increase free product sign-ups, and attract developers and security engineers. Working within the Global Campaigns & Growth Marketing team, this individual will collaborate with Product, Lifecycle, and Web teams to align marketing efforts with free product adoption. A crucial aspect of this role involves partnering with Product Growth and Engineering to ensure a smooth handoff of new sign-ups for downstream activation and adoption. The ideal candidate will possess high agency, strong experimentation skills, and a proactive approach to building and testing rapidly.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in growth marketing at a B2B SaaS company with a developer or technical audience.
  • Hands-on experience running campaigns and experiments focused on driving free product sign-ups or trials.
  • Deeply data-driven with the ability to instrument a funnel, run tests, and translate results into action.
  • Strong CRO instincts and experience optimizing landing pages, CTAs, and sign-up flows.
  • Proficiency in designing tests, avoiding common pitfalls, and learning quickly.
  • Comfortable owning messaging and content for a technical audience with minimal direction.
  • Ability to champion a culture of collaboration and accountability, navigating resistance and diverse perspectives into clear, actionable decisions.
  • Skill in partnering across functions to implement change, balancing empathy with a bias toward execution.
  • Experience with paid social, paid search, and organic channels targeting developers or security practitioners.
  • Experience using tools like Marketo, Salesforce, and web analytics platforms for campaign tracking and reporting.

  • Experience at a security, developer tools, or open-source company.
  • Familiarity with community-led growth motions and the role of open-source communities as a top-of-funnel channel.
  • Background in conversion rate optimization across landing pages and product sign-up flows.
  • Experience marketing to both developers and security practitioners, understanding their differing behaviors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute campaigns across paid, organic, and owned channels to drive awareness and free product sign-ups.
  • Own campaign strategy and messaging from concept through execution and reporting.
  • Build mini-campaigns for specific features, use cases, and product moments to drive targeted acquisition.
  • Own the growth landing page strategy, including building, testing, and optimizing pages for free sign-ups and feature usage.
  • Run A/B and multivariate tests on landing pages, CTAs, headlines, and page structure to improve conversion rates.
  • Partner with web and design teams to execute experiments quickly without compromising quality.
  • Develop and own top-of-funnel messaging tailored to developers and security engineers.
  • Create and test content across various formats (ads, landing pages, email, organic social) to drive awareness and sign-ups.
  • Monitor competitor activities to refine positioning and messaging.
  • Build and maintain a structured experimentation roadmap, including hypotheses, tests, results, and iterations.
  • Run experiments across acquisition channels, landing pages, CTAs, and campaign messaging.
  • Document learnings and share them to foster team growth.
  • Own top-of-funnel reporting, including traffic, sign-up volume, channel performance, and campaign attribution.
  • Define and track KPIs that link marketing activity to free product growth.
  • Present performance and learnings to product and marketing leadership regularly.
