Growth Marketer

Ecopia TechToronto, ON
CA$75,000 - CA$95,000Hybrid

About The Position

Ecopia is hiring a Growth Marketer to support a self-serve, product-led growth strategy targeting small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in architecture, engineering, construction, landscaping, and field services, while also supporting Ecopia’s traditional markets. The role is approximately 75% growth-focused, including search engine optimization, paid acquisition, customer acquisition, and market positioning, and 25% traditional marketing, including content creation, case studies, trade shows, and brand initiatives. The Growth Marketer will report to the Head of Product Growth and success will be measured by self-serve customer sign-ups, product activations, and overall customer engagement. This role is a 0→1 motion inside an established company, opening a second front for Ecopia by targeting SMB operators who need high-quality geospatial data to enhance their day-to-day support and field operations. The focus is on a different buyer (owners and ops leaders at SMB AEC firms, landscaping businesses, and field-service companies), a different motion (self-serve sign-up and activation), and different positioning (Ecopia as the data layer that makes SMB support and field operations sharper). This hire owns the top of the funnel and the narrative to attract the right SMB operators.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years in B2B growth marketing, ideally with PLG / self-serve exposure.
  • Hands-on paid acquisition experience across Google + Meta (X a plus).
  • Proven ability to own a budget and a CAC target.
  • Demonstrated SEO experience, having shipped content that ranked and converted.
  • Understanding of AI search / GEO, with active optimization for LLM citations.
  • Strong product positioning instinct; ability to translate a horizontal product for specific verticals.
  • Fluency in HubSpot (workflows, lists, attribution) and modern paid ad platforms.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and a 0→1 motion.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience marketing to SMB trades, AEC, or field-service buyers.
  • Familiarity with geospatial, mapping, or data-product categories.
  • Lifecycle/email expertise (HubSpot sequences for sign-up → activation).
  • Light analytics chops (SQL, GA4, product analytics tools).
  • Experience running a trade-show presence with measurable pipeline outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Own Ecopia's presence in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Google AI Overviews for SMB vertical queries, treating LLM citations as a primary acquisition channel.
  • Build the keyword strategy, content briefs, and on-page foundation for SMB AEC, landscaping, and field-service queries, including developing vertical landing pages.
  • Optimize paid acquisition campaigns on Google, Meta, and X, managing targeting, creative iteration, landing pages, and CAC in line with activation.
  • Translate Ecopia's geospatial data into language specific to each SMB vertical, iterating on landing pages, messaging, and creative by sub-segment.
  • Set up HubSpot, paid platforms, and product analytics to attribute sign-ups and activations back to source, running experiments and reporting weekly.
  • Develop a blog cadence focused on the practical problems SMB operators solve with geospatial data.
  • Create testimonials and case studies from early self-serve customers, instrumented to convert.
  • Partner with the broader Ecopia team to support existing and identify new trade shows in AEC/landscaping/field service, running each as a lead-gen funnel.
  • Establish a consistent brand voice that resonates with SMB operators (down-to-earth, outcomes-focused).
