About The Position

The North American Growth Leader is a strategic commercial role responsible for driving regional market assessment, segmentation, and long-term product strategy. Serving as the bridge between regional market realities and global product lines, you will define end-to-end solution architecture, craft go-to-market attack plans, and partner with Marketing to drive demand. While you own early-stage prospecting, qualification, and internal solution advocacy, you will collaborate closely with Sales to advance opportunities, ultimately accountable for commercial pipeline growth, target account penetration, and profitable solution margins. The Market Growth leader is responsible for developing and executing regional market strategy and commercial attack plan for assigned Grid Automation, Sensing and Diagnostic Solutions. This is a customer-facing, market-driven strategy role that owns the foundation for all downstream sales and commercial activity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Power Engineering or other technical field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Utilities and/or Large Industrial customers on Automation & Control, Reliability, Telecom Infrastructure, or Power & Asset Management topics
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a commercial role (sales, account management, business development, or strategy)
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in business planning, market strategy, or commercial analysis

Nice To Haves

  • Entrepreneurial mindset: able to conceptualize, develop, and drive market opportunities and growth initiatives as a business end-to-end; comfortable building and operating initiatives as a business owner, not just a functional resource.
  • Ability to lead via influence across cross-functional partners (Marketing, Sales, Product, Commercial Operations, Engineering) where direct authority doesn't exist.
  • Proactive self-starter with "doer" mindset, able to drive execution with clear ownership and discipline.
  • Ability to synthesize quantitative market data and qualitative customer input into cohesive market strategy and communicate persuasively to customers and leadership.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills; comfort building market models, segmentation frameworks, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Exceptional prioritization and time management skills; ability to navigate dynamic environments and competing priorities while maintaining execution rigor and moving initiatives forward.
  • Comfort presenting to customer audiences and conducting product demonstrations without being a technical SME; ability to distill complex market dynamics and solution architecture into compelling executive briefs.

Responsibilities

  • Own the market assessment and sizing for North America: develop TAM, SAM, and SOM analyses, identify trends, and ensure consistent methodology across the team.
  • Define, implement and maintain market segmentation and target account lists: develop segmentation criteria, identify buyer personas, and build standardized target account lists to guide prospecting and acquisition.
  • Collaborate with Global Product Line on North American market intelligence: feed regional insights, regulatory trends, and competitive findings into global roadmap planning.
  • Support Long Term Strategy (LTS) planning: provide regional market insights and multi-year evolution perspectives to inform 3-5 year product strategy.
  • Create the commercial strategy and attack plan: define regional positioning, value proposition, and go-to-market approaches. Own the sales playbook that translates strategy into execution.
  • Develop and own the overall solution definition end-to-end: build the complete architecture (hardware, software, licensing, TCO) as a master reference for consistent positioning.
  • Facilitate demand creation and customer engagement: coordinate with Marketing on lead flow, speak at events, and conduct product demos (as a non-technical SME) to articulate solution value.
  • Own prospecting and opportunity identification: qualify new opportunities using strategic discovery, handing off to Sales once a commercial approach is defined.
  • Support the progression of qualified opportunities through the sales cycle: provide market and architecture context to Sales during proposals, attending key customer moments without owning execution.
  • Act as champion for the solution internally: drive awareness across teams, train Sales on positioning at launch, and feed customer learnings back to the business.
  • Develop and drive market size analysis including TAM (Total Addressable Market), SAM (Serviceable Addressable Market), and SOM (Serviceable Obtainable Market).
  • Identify market trends, adoption patterns, regulatory drivers, and competitive positioning.
  • Develop market segmentation criteria, identify high-priority customer types and buyer personas.
  • Build and maintain target account lists in common format across all Growth Leaders to guide prospecting and customer acquisition strategy.
  • Feed regional market insights, segmentation, regulatory trends, and competitive findings into global roadmap planning to ensure regional market realities inform product decisions.
  • Provide regional market insights and multi-year market evolution perspective to inform 3-5 year product strategy.
  • Validate regional market assumptions and ensure regional customer needs and competitive positioning are reflected in long-term product direction.
  • Define regional positioning, value proposition, and customer use cases informed by market assessment and global guidance.
  • Develop go-to-market approach targeting high-priority accounts.
  • Build and articulate the complete solution architecture including hardware components, software capabilities, licensing model, integration points, deployment approach, and total cost of ownership.
  • Maintain as master reference to ensure consistent, commercially viable positioning across all customer and internal conversations.
  • Coordinate with Marketing to generate thought leadership and lead flow.
  • Speak at customer events and conduct product demonstrations, articulating market relevance and solution value.
  • Identify and qualify new customer opportunities using strategic market discovery conversations and pitches grounded in segmentation and market knowledge.
  • Provide market, competitive, and solution architecture context to Sales as opportunities advance from identification through proposal.
  • Attend key customer moments where GL market expertise and solution knowledge add value.
  • Drive awareness and education across the Growth Team, Sales, and business lines on market potential, customer needs, solution architecture, and positioning.
  • Provide training to Sales on positioning and solution architecture at launch and when material updates occur.
  • Capture and share market insights and customer learning back to the team.
