About The Position

Rho is building a revenue engine for its SMB segment, and the Growth BDR will be responsible for running this engine day-to-day. The role involves working every warm/inbound SMB lead within 5 minutes of it hitting the pipeline, running a reactivation motion against dormant SMB accounts, and closing and funding lower-value SMB deals. Additionally, the Growth BDR will book meetings on higher-value opportunities for the closing team and execute weekly plays set by Growth/Marketing to test pipeline-driving strategies. This position requires building and improving the tooling for speed and reactivation at scale, rather than just manual execution. The role reports to the VP, Marketing, with a direct influence on how this program is built.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated technical proficiency, evidenced by building or shipping something concrete (an app, a tool, a side project).
  • A background suited to fluency in complex financial topics (e.g., a finance degree or equivalent).
  • Genuine confidence in cold-calling situations, demonstrated through public speaking, competitive/club sports, or similar experiences under pressure.
  • Evidence of prior quota attainment, high-volume rejection tolerance, or a specific example of coaching feedback that led to a change in work approach.
  • Comfortable running a new play every week and reporting honestly on both successes and failures.
  • Comfortable owning a number in an undefined, early-stage motion, with the understanding that comp and quota may be re-evaluated as the role matures.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to every warm/inbound SMB lead within 5 minutes, adhering to a weekly SLA.
  • Own the tooling behind the SLA, including routing, alerting, and follow-up automation.
  • Execute weekly plays set by the Growth/Marketing lead (e.g., new outbound angles, channel tests, messaging variants) and report on their effectiveness.
  • Book meetings for the closing team on higher-value SMB opportunities.
  • Close and fund lower-value SMB deals from start to finish, including ensuring account funding.
  • Continuously improve CRM workflows, sequencing, and outbound tooling.
