About The Position

As a Group Underwriter for Life & Health, you will provide expertise and guidance for the development and enforcement of organizational underwriting guidelines, policies and processes. You will apply your knowledge, skills, and practices to perform assignments.

Requirements

• Solid communication skills, verbal and written, in English as you will regularly serve our clients and do business with RBC partners and/or employees across Canada with English speaking needs
• 2 to 3 years of insurance experience
• Strong mathematical skills
• Proven collaboration/team player mindset
• Ability to think conceptually and outside the box
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently while meeting deadlines
• Strong negotiation, persuasion, and conflict resolution skills with a bias towards customer service

Nice To Haves

• 2 to 3 years of experience as a Group Underwriter or Group benefits experience
• Bilingual (French)

Responsibilities

• Achieve process performance goals, both at the individual and work unit level
• Contribute to high quality risk assessment and management within the work unit
• Support customer focus for internal and external customers
