About The Position

The Group Sales Manager is responsible for successfully booking business within the assigned segments. S/he will establish and maintain excellent working relationships with current and prospective business. The Sales Manager will assist in maintaining the AAA Four Diamond Standards. They will always conduct themselves in a manner which supports the Core Values of Sunriver Resort: Trust, Open & Honest Communication and Commitment. He/She/They shall strive to deliver exceptional service to all internal and external guests at all times. In this role, they are responsible for exemplifying the Sunriver Resort Culture and actively supporting our Vision and Mission to be the destination of choice for our guests, owners, and associates.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have valid Oregon driver’s license and meet company driving standards
  • Must be able to work well under pressure
  • Must be able to work with high level of accuracy
  • Must have the ability to analyze and close business
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must be willing to travel as necessary

Nice To Haves

  • Four year degree preferred
  • At least three to five years sales experience preferred
  • At least one year hospitality experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Books profitable business for the resort
  • Solicits potential sales leads and prospects for new business opportunities
  • Contacts clients to sell special amenities and/or extras to enhance their stay
  • Establishes strong rapport with clientele; maintaining strong communication prior to resort stay
  • Maintains strong client base within assigned market segment
  • Actively participates in industry related organizations
  • Consistently works to book repeat business
  • Maintains strong contact with clients to determine needs, expectations, etc.
  • Communicates effectively with resort staff to ensure smooth delivery of all services
  • Coordinates and conducts site tours for booked and potential guests
  • Assists in producing sales contracts
  • Achieves designated sales goals
  • Actively participates in community/civic activities to maintain awareness within community and to create booking opportunities
  • Participates in geographically appropriate trade shows
  • Executes sales plan to exceed goals
  • Maintains strong awareness of hospitality trends
  • Reviews guests’ feedback through Revinate to ensure continual guest satisfaction
  • Welcomes incoming guests with courteous and professional attitude
  • Handles client requests promptly and with high level of accuracy
  • Provides general resort information to guests
  • Maintains an up-to-date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events
  • Attends appropriate resort, division and department meetings
