About The Position

The Sales Manager reports to and works directly with the Director of Sales. In this position you possess a background of advanced Sales skills with networking and proactive sales efforts at the forefront of all you do. In this role, you will be responsible for all tasks related to driving Corporate/Tour and Association Group and Banquet Revenue Market Share. This will be achieved through proactively connecting with arriving travelers, networking, and negotiating rates and contracts with pricing and terms that are in the best interest of Surety to exceed the hotel's revenue goals.

Requirements

  • Relevant hotel sales experience highly preferred
  • Marriott experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Drive group sales through proactive prospecting, new business development, and share-shifting strategies to achieve and exceed revenue goals.
  • Analyze and qualify business to ensure appropriate booking guidelines, function space utilization, and guest room-to-space ratios align with the hotel’s overall revenue strategy.
  • Build and maintain strong, active relationships with clients, meeting planners, convention and visitors bureaus, and key community partners to generate new business and repeat opportunities.
  • Lead negotiations and strategically leverage hotel resources to maximize revenue and profitability while delivering exceptional experiences that meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Take ownership of the assigned market and territory by identifying opportunities, responding to market needs, participating in industry and community organizations, and developing relationships that drive business.
  • Collaborate closely with hotel departments and senior leadership to effectively sell, plan, and execute group business, resolve challenges, and ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Represent the hotel professionally through client events, sales activities, site inspections, appointments, promotions, and other initiatives that support revenue generation and strengthen the hotel’s presence in the market.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of the hotel’s facilities, guestroom inventory, meeting space, capacities, and competitive set while consistently demonstrating initiative, flexibility, urgency, and accountability.
  • Perform all responsibilities in a timely and professional manner, supporting the success of the sales team and contributing to a positive, collaborative hotel culture.
