About The Position

ECS Limited is seeking an experienced engineering leader to manage its Knoxville office. The Group Manager oversees engineering projects, staff, business development, and the branch’s day-to-day operations. The role leads geotechnical and construction materials teams, oversees laboratory operations, manages department and group performance, and supports client development, recruiting, and staff mentorship.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of related experience.
• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
• A valid driver’s license is required if driving for or on behalf of an ECS subsidiary.
• Proficiency with geotechnical principles and applications.
• Practical experience conducting laboratory testing, construction observation, and field quality assurance testing.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong project management and marketing skills.
• Leadership qualifications and a business-development orientation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of geotechnical and construction materials engineers and project managers.
• Oversee all laboratory operations.
• Oversee projects and review technical reports.
• Prepare proposals and manage department and group-related P&L.
• Assist staff with marketing services by maintaining and developing client interactions.
• Interact with senior staff and mentor junior staff.
• Assist with recruiting and maintaining adequate staffing levels in the group.
