About The Position

ECS Limited is seeking an experienced engineering leader to manage its Tampa office. The Group Manager oversees engineering projects, staff, business development, and day-to-day branch operations. The role leads and mentors geotechnical and construction materials engineers and project managers; oversees laboratory operations; manages projects and departmental and group profit and loss; reviews technical reports and prepares proposals; supports marketing and client relationships; and assists with recruiting and maintaining appropriate staffing levels.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of related experience.
• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
• A valid driver’s license is required if driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary.
• Proficiency in geotechnical principles and applications.
• Practical experience conducting laboratory testing, construction observation, and field quality assurance testing.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong project management and marketing skills.
• Leadership qualifications and a business-development orientation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of geotechnical and construction materials engineers and project managers.
• Oversee and manage all laboratory operations.
• Oversee projects and perform technical report reviews.
• Prepare proposals and manage department and group profit and loss.
• Assist staff in marketing services by maintaining and developing client interactions.
• Interact with senior staff members and mentor junior staff members.
• Assist with recruiting and maintaining adequate staffing levels in the group.
• Manage day-to-day operations for the branch.
