About The Position

The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is hiring Group Leaders for the YMCA Ayrlawn School Age Child Care program. The role supports school-age children in a collaborative before- and after-care environment, providing recreational, academic, and enrichment activities that promote social-emotional and academic growth. Group Leaders help maintain a safe, stimulating, and welcoming environment and work with families and program staff to support children’s well-being. The position is part-time during the school year. Hours are Monday through Friday, with before-care shifts from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and/or after-care shifts from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Compensation is $16.50 per hour.

Requirements

Experience working with elementary- to middle-school-aged children in a school or childcare setting.
High school diploma or GED.
Strong interpersonal and behavior management skills.
CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain it.
