About The Position

Kiddie Academy is seeking an energetic, nurturing, and inspiring Group Leader to join a team of child care professionals. The role supports the school-age program, supervises students, maintains a safe and orderly classroom, and communicates with children’s families. The Group Leader also assists with classroom planning, documentation, events, and daily care.

Requirements

• Have a pleasant, friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality.
• Be highly professional and dependable.
• Be able to interact appropriately with students of all ages and skill levels, as well as parents, coworkers, and management.
• Be able to lift at least 40 pounds consistently throughout the workday to at least waist height.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily planning and facilitation of the school-age program and supervision of students.
• Supervise students during all activities.
• Counsel students when social, academic, or adjustment problems arise.
• Maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the classroom environment.
• Help children during meals and with clean-up.
• Assist with academy and classroom paperwork, including daily notes, student accident reports, and attendance reports.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings, academy events, and parent meetings as requested.
• Ensure classroom and outdoor equipment is in good working condition and properly used and maintained.
• Help arrange the classroom into well-defined interest areas.
• Maintain the family information board and other classroom bulletin boards.
• Communicate appropriate information to parents and maintain developmental profiles for children.
• Ensure the classroom medication schedule is followed.
• Help plan and implement classroom events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
