About The Position

Stonington Institute, a division of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), is hiring a full-time Group Facilitator for its substance abuse treatment programs in Southeastern Connecticut. The role supports clients in the Detox/Starlight programs through education, discharge planning, referrals, case management, and follow-up. The facilitator works with other team members on treatment planning, utilization review, and client management; develops and provides educational groups and curriculum; serves as a liaison and spokesperson for clients and administrative matters; and completes required documentation. The position is 40 hours per week. Compensation is $28.58–$35.72 per hour.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or one year of supervised experience in group facilitation with adults.
Computer literacy and competency with Microsoft Office programs.

Independent license or CADC/CAC.

Responsibilities

Provide client and family education, discharge planning, referrals, case management, and follow-up for clients in the Detox/Starlight programs.
Communicate and provide feedback to team members as part of joint treatment planning, utilization review, and client management.
Provide groups focused on substance abuse education and/or education in an established area of expertise.
Develop curriculum and provide program education components based on specialty areas, client needs, and community history.
Relay utilization review, insurance, and other administrative information to requesting sources.
Act as a facility liaison to clients, families, aftercare agencies, institutions, or clinicians.
Complete documentation required by state and accrediting agencies.
Develop a continuing education and supervision plan with the immediate supervisor.
Participate in conferences, meetings, and continuing education programs as appropriate.
