About The Position

The West Suburban YMCA is seeking an energetic and motivating Bootcamp/HIIT/HYROX-style instructor to lead high-intensity, results-driven group exercise classes. The instructor delivers safe, engaging, and inclusive workouts that promote member wellness, build community, and support participants in achieving their fitness goals. The position is available at the Wells Ave and Church Street locations and pays $30–$45, depending on experience, certifications, and education. The instructor leads group classes in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement, in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Requirements

CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
A national group fitness instruction certification from ACE, NETA, AFAA, or NASM, or YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise certification.
Certification in areas of expertise.
Ability to conduct classes and activities.
Ability to perform the physical aspects of the position, including leading class, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of experience teaching group wellness classes is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes as directed by the supervisor, supporting the YMCA's mission and goals.
Answer members’ questions and support them in achieving healthy-living goals; maintain working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support.
Build effective, authentic relationships with members and help them connect with one another and the YMCA.
Maintain accurate class attendance records.
Follow YMCA policies and procedures and respond to emergency situations.
