About The Position

Peak Living is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain all outdoor areas of the community in a safe and attractive condition. Under the direction of the Service Manager, the Groundskeeper performs routine groundskeeping, cleaning, and property maintenance. Hours depend on community needs and may include weekends and after-hours emergency services.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of building maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and willingness to learn.
• Good communication abilities.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Knowledge and skill in the safe use and maintenance of tools and equipment such as wrenches, grips, sledgehammers, hammers, snips, posthole diggers, saws, wheelbarrows, dollies, hand trucks, buckets, hoists, jacks, stepladders, full ladders, and double ladders.

Responsibilities

• Frequently walk the property and remove litter, debris, and pet droppings from the grounds.
• Perform trash-out duties at vacated apartments.
• Notify the manager about diseased, dying, or dead landscape plantings.
• Observe chemical and fertilizing postings and signs.
• Transfer trash and other items left outside the dumpster into it, sweep the area, and keep dumpster doors closed on windy days.
• Detail the property regularly; use a blower or sweeper to clear leaves, grass, and debris from sidewalks, parking lots, and walking areas.
• Check and replace exterior lighting regularly.
• Clean and maintain the pool and/or spa as directed.
• Repair and replace windows, screens, and sliding glass doors, and perform routine property maintenance as requested.
• Shovel snow, plow, and apply salt or ice melt as needed.
• Clean laundry room areas when housekeeping is gone for the day.
• Maintain awareness of proper safety precautions.
• Pressure wash sidewalks, driveways, and stairwells as needed.
• Distribute resident communications, such as event announcements, pest control notices, and newsletters.
• Contribute to Peak Living's resident satisfaction and retention goals.
