Groundskeeper - Plant Operations
About The Position
The Groundskeeper cuts grass, repairs damaged lawns, and prunes trees and shrubs. The role lays out and tends flower beds or other decorative vegetation, removes snow, ice, and other obstructions from pedestrian areas and driveways, and maintains driveways and parking lots. The Groundskeeper performs routine cleaning and maintenance on gardening and grounds equipment and completes all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Responsibilities also include trimming hedges, maintaining shrubbery and flowerbeds, removing trash and debris from grounds, cleaning grease traps and the swimming pool, assisting with drainage-system maintenance, watering plants inside and outside buildings, and cleaning the maintenance shop.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
Responsibilities
- Cuts grass using a tractor and lawn mower.
- Cuts hedges using electric and hand trimmers.
- Maintains shrubbery and flowerbeds.
- Takes trash from assigned places to the dumpster.
- Cleans trash, limbs, and other debris from grounds, including driveways.
- Cleans grease traps.
- Cleans the swimming pool weekly.
- Assists with maintenance of the drainage system.
- Waters plants inside and outside buildings.
- Cleans the maintenance shop.
- Repairs damaged lawns and prunes trees and shrubs.
- Removes snow, ice, and other obstructions from pedestrian areas and driveways.
- Maintains driveways and parking lots.
- Performs routine cleaning and maintenance on gardening and grounds equipment.
