About The Position

Provides landscaping and lawn maintenance to ensure that all properties are consistently maintained and visually appealing. Mows lawns, trims edges around sidewalks, curbs, fencing, etc. Maintains hedges, shrubs, and landscaped areas through pruning and shaping. Routinely weeds flowerbeds and landscaped areas. Removes leaves, grass clippings, and other yard debris. Collects and disposes of trash from outdoor areas. Provides snow removal during winter months to ensure all properties are safe and accessible. Monitors weather to anticipate snowfall and adjusts removal schedules to ensure safe conditions. Removes snow from sidewalks, entryways, and designated areas. Applies salt or ice melt to walkways. Operates and maintains landscaping and snow removal equipment. Maintains and organizes supplies and equipment. Locks and secures buildings as needed. Observes and reports exterior safety concerns to appropriate department.

Requirements

Possess a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate, as well as specific knowledge of administrative processes and practices, typically learned “on the job,” or which may include a series of training sessions that would comprise a few weeks if done consecutively.
Maintains current knowledge of standards of care and practices as typically acquired through continuing education.
A valid driver’s license is required for travel between facilities.
Prepares basic correspondence and simple reports in Microsoft Word.
Uses Microsoft Excel to create tables and simple displays of information.
Demonstrates proficiency with all electronic systems required for the position.
Functions effectively in response to workflow or ongoing direction by supervisors.
Effectively selects from pre-established alternatives to resolve situations encountered on the job.
Able to effectively communicate opinions drawn from conclusions using inference and logic.
