About The Position

Carrollwood Farms is a family estate farm encompassing over 4,000 acres in Stokes and Rockingham Counties, North Carolina. The Groundskeeper Crew Lead helps shape and maintain the beauty and functionality of the farm's landscapes, including existing yards, road edges, and trails, as well as upcoming projects. The role combines hands-on groundskeeping with day-to-day oversight of other groundskeepers. Oversight includes assigning roles, providing feedback on work quality, reporting crew progress to senior management, and offering strategic advice on task management, with an emphasis on productivity and efficiency.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or a related field.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Proficiency in safely using manual and power tools.
• Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs regularly.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform bending, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with email communication.
• Genuine passion for creating a beautiful and functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, and irrigation systems.
• Apply fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides safely and effectively.
• Spread mulch, trim trees and hedges, and control weeds.
• Operate and maintain hand tools and power equipment.
• Conduct basic irrigation audits and repairs.
• Keep the grounds free of trash, debris, and litter.
• Lead other members of the crew, including assigning roles and providing feedback on work quality.
• Report crew progress to senior management and provide strategic advice for task management.
• Work collaboratively with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
