About The Position

Fluor is hiring a Grounds Maintenance Technician to maintain grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly manner. The role involves operating and maintaining grounds equipment, transporting equipment and materials, performing snow removal and emergency on-call services when required, and using required personal protective equipment. The technician works with a team to complete assigned tasks and installs or replaces turf, trees, ornamental plants, shrubs, ground covers, annuals, and bulbs as directed. The position also assists with repairs and installations involving fencing and paving materials, pathways, concrete drainage inlets, retaining walls, posts, slabs, drains, and culverts. The technician keeps tools, equipment, and materials in operating condition and properly stored, and maintains service-request records, equipment-parts listings, service and repair logs, and supply-use records. A U.S. Government security clearance is required or must be obtained and maintained. The salary range is $37,000 to $47,000.

Requirements

Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
High school diploma or GED.
A combination of education and directly related experience equal to two years, subject to possible local variations.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the work.
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.

Responsibilities

Maintain grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
Safely operate and maintain grounds maintenance equipment, including lawn mowers, edgers, sweepers, string trimmers, rototillers, chainsaws, power hedge trimmers, tractors, and basic gardening hand tools.
Safely load and transport equipment and materials to and from multiple locations.
Perform snow removal operations and emergency on-call services as necessary, including when required 24/7.
Use required personal protective equipment at all times.
Work with others in a team-oriented environment to complete assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner.
Install or replace turf, trees, ornamental plants, shrubs, ground covers, annuals, and bulbs as directed by a supervisor.
Assist with repairs or installations of fencing and paving materials, pathways, concrete drainage inlets, retaining walls, posts, slabs, drains, and culverts.
Keep relevant tools, equipment, and materials in operating condition and stored in their proper locations.
Maintain service-request records, equipment-parts listings, equipment service and repair logs, and records of supplies used.
Perform other duties as assigned.
