About The Position

Grounds Maintenance and Labor Position. As a Beacon employee, you can be a part of delivering our mission and improving the lives of people with disabilities. Beacon Group has been creating opportunities for people with disabilities across Southern Arizona, Phoenix and beyond. As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, Beacon serves over 2,000 people with disabilities each year. Beacon provides job training and placement, supported and center-based employment, and day treatment programs to assist nearly two-thirds of working-age people with disabilities who do not have a job.

Requirements

Ability to balance, bend, stand, walk, kneel, twist, stretch, climb and sit.
Ability to use hand or related equipment grabbers, hula hoe, shovel.
Ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 25 pounds unassisted.
Ability to follow instructions.
Ability to work effectively with the public.
Ability to tolerate environmental conditions, such as hot, cold, wetness, dust, noise, etc.

Nice To Haves

Experience in working in outside environment helpful but not necessary.

Responsibilities

Ensure all ground maintenance assignments meet contractual standards.
Maintain all safety standards.
Monitor all job related supplies and equipment.
Ensure all equipment is maintained properly and in good working order.
Work with Supervisor/Job Coach to resolve all ground maintenance issues. This includes addressing customer concerns and assisting the Supervisor/Job Coach to quickly resolve issues.
Perform all ground maintenance duties as needed.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by Supervisor/Job Coach.
Attend regular safety meeting and trainings to maintain a safe working environment for the customer and employees.
Must comply with heat/sun precautions and that all personnel wear required clothing and footwear while at worksite.
