Full Time Grocery Merchandiser
About The Position
The Grocery Merchandiser manages an assigned territory by completing store visits, surveys, audits, and other tasks. The position is based in Niles, Illinois, and covers locations within a 25–55-mile radius. It is full time, 40 hours per week across five days, with compensation of $20 per hour. The role includes pre-selling, merchandising, and gaining or maintaining product distribution across grocery accounts. The merchandiser ensures client products are stocked and orders products that are out of stock or running low. The job requires frequent use of mobile apps for reporting, photo uploads, task completion, and communication, while switching between stocking, reporting, and communicating with store teams. Work is performed independently in a fast-paced retail environment with minimal supervision and requires regular standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable transportation and ability to drive to stores in the assigned territory.
- Valid driver license and proof of automobile insurance.
- Reliable phone (within 5 years old), phone service, and internet service for daily communication.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow directions independently.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the day.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced retail environment.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual ability is preferred but not required.
- Previous retail, sales, or merchandising experience is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Manage an assigned territory by completing store visits, surveys, audits, and tasks.
- Pre-sell and merchandise products across a variety of grocery accounts.
- Gain and maintain product distribution by establishing relationships with store teams.
- Order products that are out of stock or running low and work newly ordered products onto shelves.
- Ensure client products are accurately represented and well stocked on store shelves.
- Travel between store locations within the designated territory.
- Use mobile apps to complete reporting, upload photos, finish tasks, and communicate.
- Maintain a safe working environment in stores and comply with additional Store Team guidelines.
- Maintain a professional appearance and follow dress code and attendance guidelines.
- Attend client kickoff video calls and team check-ins as required.
