About The Position

The Grocery Department Manager oversees daily operations of the Grocery Department, focusing on customer service, sales, department readiness, and profitability. The manager ensures strong in-stock conditions, accurate pricing, and high merchandising standards in a fast-paced, hands-on retail environment.

The role involves leading and developing grocery associates, maintaining a full, fresh, clean, and well-organized department, and ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and operational standards. The position requires flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and the ability to handle products and work in coolers and freezers. Travel is not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Grocery Department operations, focusing on customer service, sales, and department readiness.
• Provide friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable customer service and professionally resolve customer concerns.
• Keep shelves, displays, and aisles clean, full, front-faced, and merchandised to company standards.
• Execute planograms, promotional sets, seasonal transitions, and weekly ad merchandising.
• Manage ordering, inventory levels, product rotation, and backroom organization.
• Monitor shrink and implement procedures to reduce waste and loss.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and operational standards.
• Hire, train, coach, schedule, and develop grocery associates while fostering a positive team environment.
• Analyze sales, labor, and inventory data to drive results.
