About The Position

The Grocery Department Manager oversees the daily operations of the Grocery Department, driving sales and profitability while maintaining in-stock conditions, accurate pricing, and high merchandising standards. This is a fast-paced, hands-on leadership role focused on operational excellence, merchandising execution, customer service, and department readiness. The manager supports associates, sets the pace on the sales floor, and helps ensure customers have a full, fresh, and well-organized department.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Grocery Department operations, focusing on customer service, sales, and department readiness.
• Provide friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable customer service and professionally resolve customer concerns.
• Keep shelves, displays, and aisles clean, full, front-faced, and merchandised to company standards.
• Execute planograms, promotional sets, seasonal transitions, and weekly-ad merchandising.
• Manage ordering, inventory levels, product rotation, and backroom organization.
• Monitor shrink and implement procedures to reduce waste and loss.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and operational standards.
• Hire, train, coach, schedule, and develop grocery associates while fostering a positive team environment.
