About The Position

The Grocery Clerk provides remarkable customer service by sharing product knowledge, serving customers efficiently, and maintaining a friendly attitude. The role involves a variety of retail tasks related to products, customer service, and merchandising. Grocery Clerks stock products, maintain displays, perform basic department cleaning, and follow safety and sanitation procedures. The work takes place in a typical retail-store environment, which may range from regular temperatures to cooler areas and from quiet to loud noise levels.

Requirements

• Be highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Have strong listening and communication skills.
• Be able to handle lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and twisting while handling products or using equipment.
• Be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Regularly stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk around the store; minimal sitting is required.

Responsibilities

• Greet vendors and build rapport with them.
• Maintain a friendly, outgoing attitude through good eye contact and body language.
• Respond effectively to customer questions.
• Stock products and maintain displays according to merchandising standards.
• Perform basic department cleaning and upkeep.
• Follow safety and sanitation procedures to ensure quality service and products.
• Use a baler if required, provided the employee is at least 18 years old and has proper training.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
