This role is for the 2027 Grocery Area Manager position, with a conversion opportunity from a Summer 2026 Walmart or Sam's Club internship. The position involves implementing business plans for an assigned area of responsibility, managing staffing, scheduling, and workloads to achieve facility goals. It also includes identifying and resolving associate, customer, and supplier concerns, monitoring productivity through business reports, and maintaining quality and safety standards. The role requires supervising and developing associates and leaders, managing systems hardware and software, and troubleshooting systems applications. The Area Manager will demonstrate expertise, build business solutions, and uphold company policies and values. Responsibilities

  • Implements the business plan for assigned area of responsibility by communicating goals and managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals.
  • Identifies associate, customer, and supplier concerns by listening and consulting with others when needed to determine corrective action or make recommendations.
  • Monitors and manages productivity of assigned area of responsibility by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports.
  • Maintains quality and safety standards in assigned area of responsibility by ensuring associates are trained on logistics and company policies, standards, and procedures, monitoring compliance, and distributing supporting documentation.
  • Supervises and develops associates and leaders in assigned area of responsibility by assigning duties, monitoring performance, providing feedback, identifying training needs, and participating in hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation.
  • Manages the maintenance and installation of systems hardware and software by overseeing installation, ensuring repairs are completed, and tracking inventory and ordering system components.
  • Manages the troubleshooting of systems applications by working on problem resolution with Information Systems Division and vendors, and supporting the development of current and future systems applications.
  • Demonstrates uptodate expertise and applies it to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance, supporting alignment with customer and business needs, and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.
  • Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, identifying business needs, carrying out necessary processes, monitoring progress, recognizing improvement opportunities, and adapting to competing demands and organizational changes.
  • Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into business plans, using the Open Door Policy, and demonstrating how to apply them in executing business processes and practices.
