About The Position

Caterpillar Mapleton Seals is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Grinding Specialist to operate grinding machines and produce precision parts and components according to specifications. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards. Normal working hours are 40 hours per week, with overtime opportunities depending on business requirements. Positions are available on second and third shifts. Second shift runs 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m., Monday–Friday; third shift runs 11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m., Sunday night–Friday morning. Third-shift employees receive an additional $1.00 per hour. The positions are supplemental full-time and do not offer relocation or require travel. Candidates must be at least 18 years old. Employment offers are contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Good communication skills and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
Ability to work independently and with a team, while managing time effectively.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
Basic knowledge of reading and interpreting prints.
Strong understanding of machine and manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

Set up grinders and similar machinery.
Operate grinders to produce parts and components to specified tolerances.
Adjust equipment as needed and inspect finished products to ensure quality standards.
Read and understand written directions.
