The Grinder Operator is responsible for operating a grinding machine safely while maintaining a clean work area. This role requires knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety protocols specific to the grinding process. The position involves inspecting equipment, parts, and blades for proper repair and sanitation before setup, reading and interpreting work instructions, and accurately identifying raw materials. The operator will assist in verifying lot number usage according to formulas, performing QA checks, and completing production paperwork using basic math skills. Responsibilities also include performing transactions with RF terminals or scanners, communicating effectively during shift changes, controlling product losses, washing down equipment for product changeovers, maintaining a clean work area, boxing raw materials, and ensuring rework is used as specified. The role may require maintaining a forklift license to move product. Team members are responsible for reporting any deficiencies that could compromise food safety. The position involves working in an environment with extreme temperatures ranging from 39F to 90F and requires adherence to GMP standards and safety guidelines. Overtime and weekends may be required. The operator must be able to read schedules, meat sheets, and spec sheets to ensure correct product is on the production line.
