About The Position

Morrison Healthcare is hiring a full-time Grill Cook for the bistro at Texas Children's Pavilion in Houston, Texas. The role prepares food and serves customers at the grill station in accordance with applicable federal, state, and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations. The goal is to provide high-quality food service while maintaining food quality, temperature, portion control, and sanitation standards. Schedules are full time, with days and hours varying and rotating weekends and holidays included. The pay range is $17.00 to $20.00 per hour.

Requirements

Previous customer service and kitchen experience in a healthcare setting is required.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of culinary allergy safety and practices is preferred.

Responsibilities

Take customer orders and prepare items requiring short preparation; complete orders from steam tables and serve customers at multiple stations.
Serve customers efficiently and courteously according to established service steps and standards; ensure food is properly heated, attractive, and tasty, and taste prepared food items.
Follow established ticket-collection procedures and maintain records for the work area during service periods.
Use approved recipes and production standards to maintain food quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from workstations, stoves, and refrigerators in accordance with safety standards.
Store food in designated areas using proper wrapping, dating, food-safety, and rotation procedures.
Clean, sanitize, and maintain assigned work areas, equipment, and utensils to meet sanitation standards.
Resolve customer concerns and report relevant information and concerns to a supervisor.
Attend in-service and safety meetings.
Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers.
Work safely and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
