About The Position

The Grid Automation NAM - East Region Sales Director is accountable for the commercial and financial performance of their respective sub-region, including growth in orders, sales, profit, and market share. This role involves managing the business and team within the framework of strategy, annual operating plans, and policies defined at the Grid Automation level. The Sales Director will co-lead growth initiatives with the Grid Automation Region, drive actions to meet monthly, quarterly, and yearly targets for Orders, Sales, and CM, and create value/outcomes-based sales strategies to address customer challenges. The position also drives business development across the Grid Automation portfolio, builds strong customer relationships to enhance thought leadership and market share, and leads, coaches, and engages a team of top talent individuals. Key responsibilities include delivering operational results for the Grid Automation portfolio, focusing on Orders, Sales, and SG&A costs; providing customer insights to Product Management and services teams; developing and executing Go-To-Market strategies and market segmentation; driving the sub-region operating plan with input on growth potential, risks, NPI needs, resources, and budget; ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations; identifying and mitigating risks; reporting non-conformances; fostering a culture of integrity and compliance; and demonstrating EHS leadership with a Zero Deviation Plan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business, or related.
  • Ten (10) years of experience within the Transmission and Distribution (T&D) industry.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in sales and business development.
  • Seven (7) years of Regional Sales leadership with management of key customers.
  • Seven (7) years of experience supporting energy demand, customer requirements, and solution selling within the Transmission and Distribution (T&D) market.
  • Three (3) years of experience driving a Go-to-Market strategy to include direct and channel partner (3rd party sellers) selling.
  • Experience with Lean methodologies including Six Sigma (certification not required) and Kaizen.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the commercial and financial performance of their respective sub region, including growth in orders, sales, profit, and market share.
  • Manage the business and the team of the region within the frame of strategy, annual Op Plan, and policies defined at Grid Automation (GA) level.
  • Co-lead the actions for growth with Grid Automation Region and drive actions to meet Orders, Sales, and CM monthly, quarterly, and yearly targets.

  • Drive business development and sales across the GA portfolio.
  • Build strong customer relationships to grow thought leadership presence and market share in the region.
  • Build, lead and coach a team of top talent individuals and employ creative employee engagement activities.
  • Develop and deliver operational results for the Grid Automation portfolio, with focus on Orders, Sales and SG&A costs for the sub region.
  • Provide Voice of Customer data regarding short-term and long-term customer challenges and needs to GA Product Management team and GA services organization.
  • Develop and execute Go-To-Market strategy, market segmentation based upon the sub- region opportunities to drive growth.
  • Drive the development and execution sub-region operating plan by providing input on orders and sales growth potential and growth actions plan, risks and opportunities, NPI needs, sub-region resources and budget needs.
  • Ensure compliance with Grid Solutions and Grid Automation policies; Quality procedures, work instructions, and processes; and relevant regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate any potential risks.
  • Report or resolve any non-conformances and process in a timely manner.
  • Drive strong integrity and compliance culture within the organization.
  • Demonstrate EHS leadership and ensure a Zero Deviation Plan is implemented within the team.
