About The Position
The Greeter exemplifies excellent customer service toward patients, families, staff, and visitors, including safely and promptly transporting patients throughout Springfield Clinic. The role is responsible for activity at the Greeter Desk, maintaining a clean and safe lobby, assisting with patient transfers and wheelchair transportation, and responding to patient requests for assistance. The work environment is fast-paced and physically challenging, with exposure to outside elements, including wet or humid conditions and extreme cold and heat. The work schedule may include Saturday.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED required.
- Ability to use communication equipment.
- Ability to stand and walk continuously.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to transfer patients weighing more than 300 pounds to and from wheelchairs.
- Ability to push patients weighing more than 300 pounds in a wheelchair.
- Ability to push, pull, bend, and lift.
Responsibilities
- Communicate clearly, distinctly, and accurately with patients, employees, transport services, vendors, and guests.
- Provide service excellence by exceeding the needs of every person entering Springfield Clinic.
- Accept personal responsibility for all activity at the Greeter Desk.
- Keep the lobby clean and safe, including maintaining wheelchairs.
- Observe vehicles dropping off and picking up patients in the patient drop-off zone and respond appropriately.
- Assist with and ensure safe transfer of patients to and from wheelchairs and vehicles.
- Provide courteous wheelchair transportation for Springfield Clinic patients.
- Promptly respond to patient requests for transportation and transfer assistance.
- Provide assistance to patients when needed.
- Collect wheelchairs from parking areas and Clinic departments to maintain an appropriate supply in the wheelchair alcove.
- Comply with Springfield Clinic incident reporting policies and procedures.
- Adhere to required OSHA and Springfield Clinic training and accomplishments per policy.
- Provide excellent customer service and adhere to Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
