About The Position

The Greeter welcomes and seats guests at Auld Alliance and helps ensure a quality dining experience. This role is the first point of contact for guests, making them feel welcome, answering questions, and helping them feel comfortable, valued, and attended to. The Greeter also coordinates dining-room seating and reservations and stays in contact with servers, management, and the kitchen to help synchronize service with guest flow. The role includes greeting guests as they leave and checking whether they had a pleasant experience.

Requirements

Positive attitude and empathy.
Knowledge of restaurant flow and basic systems.
Ability to lift, push, and carry 20–40 pounds.
Ability to stand continuously for long periods.
Ability to communicate information and hotel services to management, staff, and guests.

Responsibilities

Greet guests, escort them to their tables, pull out chairs, and present menus.
Keep entry doors clean, free of debris, and welcoming.
Ensure menus are clean and complete with current special food and beverage items.
Inform servers of guest locations and assigned stations.
Plan the seating chart and organize evening reservations.
Check reservation records, phone reservationists, or answering-machine messages to confirm reservations.
Coordinate with the manager to ensure private parties are properly staffed and organized.
Check with the kitchen to verify menu items are available.
Stay in contact with servers, the manager, and the kitchen so service timing and food preparation align with guest flow.
Greet guests as they leave and check that they had a pleasant dining experience.
Identify guest problems and promptly bring them to a manager’s attention.
Answer guest questions, handle special requests such as seating for children or accessibility, manage waiting lists, and help resolve issues.
