About The Position

Responsible for administering and overseeing grants after award to ensure compliance with funder requirements and organizational policies. This mid-level position manages a diverse portfolio that may include federal, state, local, and private grants and works collaboratively with program, finance, and leadership staff to support effective stewardship of grant funding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management
  • Equivalent of Grant Management, sponsored programs, fiscal administration or compliance
  • 7 – 9 years of equivalent accounting or 5+ years of related work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing post-award grants, including federal funding
  • Working knowledge of federal grants regulation, including Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other standard business applications.
  • Working in a nonprofit organization
  • Supporting audits or funder monitoring reviews
  • Experience with subrecipient monitoring
  • Employees will regularly need to communicate in English, both in person and over the telephone. Proficiency in reading English is essential. Frequent operation of a word-processing system is required, including the ability to read, produce, and transmit data effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and approves subrecipient and community partner invoices/vouchers for grant billings and submits all backup documentation as required for reimbursement in a timely manner; completes submission of reimbursement payments via voucher submission to external funders.
  • Prepare, analyze and review budgets and expenditures for Federal, State, City funding grant contracts ensuring adherence to contract requirements
  • Partner with offshore accounting team and finance leadership in reviewing, tracking and maintaining billing information in the financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting and grants regulations.
  • Assists offshore accounting team and finance leadership in creating ad hoc reports, analyses, and other special projects.
  • Monitor Subrecipient and Community Partner compliance with fiscal reporting requirements, including billing risk assessment, grant closeout activities and record-keeping.
  • Maintain required records, reports, and files in an organized manner.
  • Maintain calendar and ensure timely adherence to deadlines for reports, meeting correspondence, etc.
  • Provide training and technical assistance in the administration of grants, interpreting laws, regulations and policies.
  • Maintain an active team approach with all staff in all work-related situations and with the staff of other agencies/organizations when collaborating on shared programs/grants.
  • Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time by the Finance Leadership.
  • Accuracy/precision in math, strong analytical skills, organized, must be able to meet deadlines while working independently.
