Grain Elevator Operator - 3rd shift
About The Position
Bartlett is hiring a Grain Elevator Operator in Council Bluffs, Iowa. This hands-on role involves receiving, storing, handling, drying, blending, and loading grain, as well as monitoring stored grain conditions and maintaining and cleaning facilities and equipment to provide a safe environment. Operators are cross-trained to perform a variety of tasks. The role handles bulk commodities such as wheat, corn, and soybeans and primarily uses grain-handling equipment including conveyors and legs. The position pays $23.00 per hour and up. The schedule is 3rd shift, 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed, including weekends.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Reliable transportation.
- For safety reasons, ability to read, write, understand, and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English.
- Availability to work overtime and weekends.
- Professional demeanor, including safety consciousness, quality job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communication.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Ability to work in tight and confined spaces and at heights.
- Ability to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, and occasionally more.
- Ability to ascend and descend ladders.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
