About The Position

The Grain Elevator Operator performs hands-on grain receiving, storage, handling, blending, and loading, and monitors stored grain condition. The role also involves maintaining and cleaning grain facilities and equipment to provide a safe environment for team members. Operators are cross-trained to perform a variety of tasks. The position is based in Wichita, Kansas, and works second shift, 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed, including weekends. Compensation is $23.00 per hour and up.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Reliable transportation.
For safety reasons, able to read, write, understand, and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English.
Available to work overtime and weekends.
Professional demeanor, including safety-consciousness, quality job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communication.
Able to pass a criminal background check.
Able to work in tight and confined spaces and at heights.
Able to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more.
Able to ascend and descend ladders.
Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
Able to travel to designated Kansas and Colorado locations as needed.

Responsibilities

Receive, store, handle, blend, and load grain.
Monitor the condition of stored grain.
Maintain and clean grain facilities and equipment.
Perform a variety of tasks through cross-training.
Travel to Great Bend, Scott City, Healy, and Cherryvale, Kansas, and Towner, Colorado, to assist with train activities, housekeeping, and other projects as needed.
