Grain Elevator Operator - 2nd Shift
About The Position
The Grain Elevator Operator performs hands-on grain receiving, storage, handling, drying, blending, and loading. The role includes monitoring stored grain conditions and maintaining and cleaning grain facilities and equipment to provide a safe environment for the operator and fellow team members. Operators are cross-trained to perform a variety of tasks. The position is based in St. Joseph, Missouri, and uses various grain-handling equipment, mainly conveyors and legs, to handle bulk commodities such as wheat, corn, and soybeans. The schedule is second shift, 2:45 p.m. to 11:15 p.m., Monday through Friday, with ample overtime, including weekends.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Reliable transportation.
- For safety reasons, the ability to read, write, understand, and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English.
- Availability to work overtime and weekends.
- Professional demeanor, including safety consciousness, quality job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communication.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Ability to work in tight and confined spaces and at heights.
- Ability to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more.
- Ability to ascend and descend ladders.
- Ability to wear required PPE.
