About The Position

The Graduate Program Coordinator is a one-year renewable term position responsible for supporting the academic, administrative, operational, enrollment management, and strategic communication functions of assigned graduate programs within the College of Arts and Sciences, primarily the M.A. in Conflict Resolution. This role serves as a key operational and strategic partner, managing day-to-day functions including enrollment management, admissions and merit aid administration, marketing and communications, student and faculty support, event coordination, and program operations. The incumbent will design and implement recruitment and yield strategies, manage admissions workflows, oversee digital outreach, and manage program budgets. Additionally, the coordinator will support academic and administrative operations by coordinating course scheduling, assisting with program assessment and reporting, supporting research and student engagement, and ensuring compliance with university policies. Special events such as orientations, commencement, academic programming, and alumni events will also be planned and executed. The role requires strong collaboration, organizational, communication, analytical, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic academic environment. Broader program support functions related to alumni relations, community development, and other operational needs may also be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in higher education.
  • Commitment to student success as part of an equitable and diverse community.
  • Working knowledge of enrollment management and admissions best practices.
  • Exceptional communication skills in writing, editing, public speaking, and customer service.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and documentation skills; experience using data to understand historical trends to drive and support decision making, linking strategies to outcomes.
  • A self-starter with a proven ability to collaborate and develop best-in-class business models, systems, and procedures to support an exceptional student experience.
  • Events management experience.
  • An ability to understand the nuanced needs and characteristics of this specialized academic program, and the ability to authentically articulate the unique opportunities and value.
  • Understanding of social media and emerging media tools to utilize in recruitment and branding of the program.
  • Organized, and proactive; highly responsive, flexible, and adaptable.
  • Technical aptitude and the ability to pick up new technology quickly.
  • Understanding of appropriate and confidential communication, file management, and storage.
  • Proficiency with Google Apps, WordPress or other web editing tools, and the Adobe Suite (Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premier Pro)
