About The Position
MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center is seeking passionate, motivated new graduate nurses to begin their nursing careers. Graduate Nurses gain hands-on clinical experience providing compassionate patient care under the close supervision of a Registered Nurse. Opportunities are available across multiple nursing units, including the Emergency Department, critical care, and bedside nursing. The role includes a 12-week Nurse Residency Program for nurses with less than one year of experience, featuring mentorship, hands-on learning, and professional development. The position is full-time, scheduled for 36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts, with day and night shifts available.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Provisional/Temporary Graduate Nurse License issued by the South Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient assessments, care planning, and treatment.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following applicable supervision requirements and safety standards.
- Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes, and communicate with the healthcare team.
- Educate patients and families on care, recovery, and healthy living.
- Collaborate with experienced nurses and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Promote patient safety, comfort, dignity, and quality care.
